Music Award Scheme - Reception, Year 7 and Year 12 

Each year the school offers up to four places at Reception, five at Year 7 and six at Year 12 through the Music Award Scheme. Applicants must complete a Music Award Scheme Application Form in addition to the standard admissions application.
Awards recognise musical potential, and previous instrumental tuition is not required. Candidates should, however, demonstrate a strong aptitude for music. Applications may be made from any location, as distance is not considered when allocating awards.
Candidates are invited to an assessment that includes aural tests and the opportunity to perform. These assessments take place before the main admissions deadline for each entry point, so Music Award Scheme applications close earlier to allow sufficient time for assessment and processing.
Where a scholarship is accepted, the application is ranked under criterion 5 of the school’s oversubscription criteria. Applicants placed on the reserve list will be contacted if a scholarship becomes available.
Scholars are expected to contribute fully to the Music Department throughout their time at the school and to participate in its activities and performance opportunities.
